About Brian

I have been customizing guitars since I was 12 years old. Starting with my Gibson Sonic 180. In 1991 I enrolled at the Roberto - Venn School of Lutherie. I spent most of my free time reading every book about stringed instrument building that I could. I also spent many hours in coffee shop discussions with my school mates discussing and refining the finer points of guitar building and designing. I am very grateful to all my classmates, some of which I regard as the best Luthiers in the country, Aaron Andrews, Chris Hesterman, Pat Nyfler, and some others that I'm not sure if they are still building or repairing. I have been enjoying the life of a certified Luthier ever since.

I have built and repaired too many guitars to list, everyone I have found to be very interesting. Even a $25.00 acoustic that needed some surgery just so a 15 yr old kid could rock again. Of course a "61" Chet Atkins, "59" Les Paul, or an old "No Caster" is of more interest. I still love Silvertones and Kays. The Wicks Customs, Electric or Acoustic, draw influences from all the great Guitars! So I'll continue to count my blessings and use my understanding of stringed instruments to fulfill a niche where I feel most appreciated.

Thanks a Million,
Brian Wicks
